” A story from Micronesia — about the surprises of a big city and the true richness we should cherish.

“It was an unbelievable experience.”
Federated States of Micronesia — Chuuk
I am from the state of Chuuk in the Federated States of Micronesia. Osaka was a truly wonderful experience. What I saw was somewhat unbelievable; I was amazed by the buildings, the facilities, and the number of people. Wow, so many people! When I entered the pavilion for the exhibits, it felt as if the entire world had gathered here at the Osaka Expo.
A Positive Connection Starts at the Pavilion
The appeal of the pavilion is that people who come can gather and share positive things.
I really wish that everyone could come together and share good things like this all the time.

About Our Country, Micronesia
I also want people to know more about my country, Micronesia.
We can offer wonderful and genuine experiences — the shipwrecks in Chuuk, the magnificent stone pyramids, the ancient stone city in Pohnpei, the Rock Islands in Palau, the beautiful “Sleeping Lady” mountain in Kosrae, and the knowledge of navigation. Especially in Yap, the Marshall Islands, and the Chuuk Islands, you can encounter amazing culture, pristine nature, beautiful beaches, and fantastic people.

The Beauty in Our Differences
We come from an island.
There are many, many huge differences between Micronesia and Japan. Everything is different, from the nature and scenery unique to an island nation and the rich oceanic environment, to the trains of a big city. But each has its own unique charm.
A Message for Everyone
I hope we can make the world a lovely place, take care of our environment, respect each other, and live in peace.
Thank you so much!
Chuuk, located in the middle of the Pacific, seems to have a calming effect on the people who live there. Being with them feels comforting, and you can’t help but feel a sense of peace.

Overview of Chuuk State, Federated States of Micronesia
